From Sunday 19 July, we hope to be holding our morning services at River View School.
Unfortunately, our much loved church building was almost totally destroyed by an arson attack in February 2017 but thankfully is now in the process of being restored to its former glory. The outer structure is scheduled to be completed by the end of September 2020 after which the work on the inside of the church can hopefully commence. This work will include new stone flooring, heating, new kitchen, toilets and seating. We are looking to be able to be a functioning church building by the end of 2021. Our original church was 150 years old in 2019 and had served the community of Lower Broughton during its many redevelopments over recent years. It has been very much missed but we are looking forward to the new chapter in its history.
During the rebuilding of the church, Masses have taken place at our sister church of St Paul at Salford Precinct and the congregation is indebted to Canon David Wyatt their parish priest [and our priest in charge] for his continued spiritual guidance and support. We are also indebted to the congregation of St Paul’s for their continued help.
However, from Sunday 19 July we hope to be holding our morning services at River View School so we will be back in Lower Broughton. Fr Falak, our new Pioneer Associate Priest, will be taking Mass at 10:00 a.m.
In line with Diocesan guidelines we take safeguarding very seriously and have full policies and procedures in place. Our safeguarding officer is Warren Mitchell who can be contacted on 07855 805315.
